Private AI for business · runs on infrastructure you own

All your AI. Private, local, and under your control.

Coot lets your business run its own AI over its own data — terabytes of documents, email, and records — on infrastructure you control. The power of modern AI, without ever handing your data to a cloud provider.

What's inside

Everything your business needs to put AI to work

One app, built around your data — and because it all lives together, every piece can draw on the others.

Your data, understood

Point Coot at terabytes of your documents, drives, and records — it indexes and answers from your own material, with nothing uploaded.

Agents that do the work

Hand an agent a multi-step job across your data and tools, and let it see the whole thing through — not just chat.

Workflows & automations

Build multi-step processes in a visual studio, run them on a schedule, and share them across your team.

Email & inbox

Connect Gmail, Outlook, or any IMAP inbox and let Coot triage, draft, and pull out the details that matter.

Connect your data sources

Slack, Calendar, Google Drive, Dropbox and more plug in — so your AI works with the systems your business already runs on.

Skills

Give Coot reusable know-how it can call on, so it handles your recurring work the way your team would.

Memory

Coot remembers context across sessions, so your AI gets more useful over time — privately.

Model Hub

Browse and run local models for chat, reasoning, and code — matched to the hardware you have.

Everyday extras, too — chat, voice dictation, and on-device image generation — without anything leaving your control.

No setup

Everything's already wired together

Running local AI usually means assembling a stack yourself — then keeping every piece alive. Coot ships all of it in one install, connected and configured. You open the app and start.

Doing it yourself
With Coot

Model runtime

Install a runtime, pick the right quantization, manage multi-gigabyte model files.

Bundled — models download in the background.

Serving & API layer

Stand up an inference server, expose a port, keep it alive so apps can reach the model.

Live the moment Coot opens — nothing to host.

Tool connectors

Register OAuth apps for every tool, store the tokens, refresh them when they expire.

Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Calendar connect in a click.

Scheduler & automations

Wire up cron or a queue, plus retries and logging for when a job fails overnight.

Schedule tasks from the app — no cron to babysit.

Memory & knowledge store

Run a vector database, embed and chunk your files, keep the index in sync as data changes.

Built in — your files are indexed automatically.

A usable interface

Build or bolt on a UI, then wire it back to every piece above to make it usable day to day.

A polished app, already wired to all of it.

Six moving parts → one download. No terminal, no config, no glue code.

See it work together

From a messy inbox to clean books — on its own

Connect your email and Coot reads incoming invoices and receipts, sorts them into transactions, applies the rules you set, and builds reports you can actually use. Agents, skills, your connected inbox, and memory — one job, handled end to end, entirely on hardware you own.

It's one example of the same idea everywhere in Coot: the pieces aren't separate apps you stitch together — they're one system that works as a team.

Integrated ecosystem

Many AIs and tools, working as one

Because it's all one app, the pieces talk to each other. Models reason over your data, agents take action, and your connected tools supply the context — Coot orchestrates them so you get the result without juggling a dozen services or shipping data between them.

Models

A catalog of local models — matched to your hardware

Coot's built-in Model Hub lets you browse and download models for chat, reasoning, code, and embeddings. It recommends the ones that will run well on your hardware and manages the downloads for you — no hunting for files, no wrangling runtimes. Swap models any time; they all run locally.

Why Coot

Your data is your advantage — don't hand it to someone else's AI

Cloud AI means uploading your most sensitive information — contracts, customer records, financials, code — to a provider that stores it, trains on it, and bills you by the token. Coot flips that: the AI runs where your data already lives, on hardware and servers you own. Nothing leaves — and it scales to the terabytes a real business runs on.

Cloud AI

  • Your data leaves your walls
  • Stored and trained on by a third party
  • Per-seat, per-token bills that grow with use
  • Locked to one vendor's models and terms

Coot

  • Your data never leaves your control
  • No training on your data — ever
  • One free app, running on hardware you own
  • Your models and your data stay yours
Privacy

Your data never leaves your control

Models run on your hardware, not in the cloud. Your conversations, files, email, and connected accounts stay on hardware you own — whether you're working solo or across a team. Privacy isn't a setting in Coot; it's the architecture.

  • No uploads
  • No training on your data
  • No lock-in
Your workspace

Local for you — or shared with your team

Coot runs on your machine as a private workspace. Install it across your team's systems and those workspaces join up — a shared, permissioned space where your data never touches a third party.

Your machine

A private workspace of one

Everything — models, files, connected tools, memory — lives on hardware you own. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is shared unless you choose to.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How is Coot different from ChatGPT or other cloud AI?

Cloud AI sends your prompts and files to a provider's servers, where they can be stored and used for training, and you pay per token as usage grows. Coot runs the models on hardware you own, so your data never leaves your control — no uploads, no training on your data, no metered bill. Same modern AI, without giving your data away.

Can Coot work over our large, private datasets?

Yes. Point Coot at your documents, drives, and inboxes — up to terabytes — and it indexes them locally so your AI can search, answer, and act on your own material, without any of it leaving your infrastructure.

Is my data really private?

Yes. The AI models run locally on hardware you control, so your prompts, files, email, and conversations never leave your control. There's no cloud middleman and no lock-in — privacy is the architecture, not a setting.

Can my whole organisation use Coot together?

Yes. Install Coot across your team's systems and it forms a shared, permissioned workspace — shared folders, member roles and access, and authentication handled — without your data ever going to a third party.

Is Coot free?

Yes. Coot is free to download and use. An optional paid cloud tier will come later for those who want it — but the local app stays free.

Which AI models can I run?

Coot's built-in Model Hub offers a growing catalog of local models — including Hermes, Ollama, DeepSeek, and Gemma — for chat, reasoning, code, and embeddings, and recommends the ones that fit your hardware, then handles the download.

Do we need a technical team to run it?

No. Coot handles installation, model selection, and setup for you. If you can install an app, you can run private AI with Coot — and scale it up when you're ready.

Which platforms does Coot support?

Coot is available for macOS today, with Windows and other platforms in active development — plus more apps over time. Local-first is the constant across all of them.
